Bubenheim
Mayor: Thomas Lebkücher, telephone 06355/989996
Bubenheim is located on both banks of the Ammelbach in the Violental at an altitude of 200 m above sea level. In the village of about 420 inhabitants, a few decades ago it was still a peasants' and workers' village, but today agriculture no longer plays a significant role. The majority of the population earns its living as commuters in the surrounding area.
Wine is grown on a small scale in Bubenheim on the slopes of the Violental. As in the other wine-growing villages of the municipality, the 8 ha local vineyard "Hahnenkamm" is part of the large vineyard "Schnepfenpflug vom Zellertal".
Bubenheim has an inner-German partnership with the Thuringian municipality of Oberbösa. The recently extensively renovated village hall forms the center of village life.
