Twilight hike in the Geopark for children

Discover the fascinating world of the Geopark together with your child on our popular twilight hike! Under the expert guidance of tour guide Wolfgang Müller, we go on an exciting exploration tour at dusk. Equipped with magnifying glasses and sturdy shoes, we will explore the flora and fauna that come to life at dusk. Who is out and about at this special time? What sounds can we hear? Wolfgang Müller answers these and many other questions in a child-friendly and vivid way.

The next twilight hike will take place on 05.07.2025 & 13.09.2025 from 18:00 - 20:00. Meeting point is the parking lot at the Geopark.


Sniffer nose discovery tour for children

The Spürnasen discovery tour at the Wartturm is an exciting experience for little explorers! On the 1.8 km long route, the three little bee mascots Paul, Rosa and Fritzi accompany the children on a lovingly designed journey of discovery around the themes of nature, the environment and sustainability.

A total of eight educational boards provide young nature lovers with interesting facts about habitats, animals and plants in a fun way. They learn how important it is to protect nature - for people, animals and plants alike.

The tour is accompanied by Wolfgang Müller, who guides the children along the way with exciting stories and child-friendly knowledge. The discovery tour lasts around two hours and ends at the Wartturm, from where there is a wonderful view.

The next Spürnasen discovery tour will take place on 17.05.2025 & 17.10.2025 from 09:30 - 11:30. Meeting point is the hiking parking lot at the wine lounge in Zellertal.


Walk along the path of evolution

Embark on a fascinating journey through the history of life on earth! On the walk along the Evolution Trail in Ottersheim, Dr. Karl-Heinz Büchner from the Rhine-Neckar regional group of the Giordano Bruno Foundation explains significant and well-documented events and developments in life. The educational trail illustrates these as stations along the 4100-million-year history of life, from the first traces to the present day, over a distance of 1000 meters.


Participation is free of charge. Registration is required and is possible by e-mail to karlheinz.buechner@gbs-rhein-neckar.de by Friday before the event date. Guided tours can also take place on other dates for groups of 6 people or more.



The walks on the Evolution Trail will take place this year on the following dates: 12.04, 14.06, 30.08 and 26.10.2025 at 14:30. The meeting point is the bridge at Ammelbach on the main road in Ottersheim.


Hike on the Adolf von Nassau Trail

Explore the "Adolf von Nassau" premium hiking trail and immerse yourself in the history of this important king! Adolf of Nassau, who was elected Roman-German king in 1292, played a central role in the history of the Holy Roman Empire. On our hike, you will learn more about the important Battle of Hasenbühl and its connection to the region. During the hike, you will also pass the monastery in Rosenthal. A wonderful and peaceful place. Here you can learn all about life in the monastery at the time and the connection to Adolf-von-Nassau.

The "Adolf von Nassau Weg" is a premium hiking trail that not only offers historical insights, but also leads through picturesque landscapes. The route combines nature and history in an impressive way.

The next hike on the Adolf-von-Nassau Trail will take place on October 04, 2025 at 10:00 am. The meeting point is the parking lot at the Gutenbergschule in Göllheim.


"Discover more with every step - hiking in the VG Göllheim"

Discover the beauty of our municipality on a varied hike through the region. The guided hike starts in Zellertal, more precisely in Harxheim at the school parking lot. From there, the route leads along a farm track, past idyllic fields, to Bubenheim. After crossing Bubenheim, the route continues along the Ammelbach to Ottersheim. The route continues along the Ammelbach via the Evolutionsweg towards Biedesheim. We cross Biedesheim and turn off towards Gundheimerhof. This is where the last section begins, which takes us to Göllheim.

The tour covers around 16 kilometers, takes around six hours and invites you to enjoy nature and the diversity of our municipality. Please remember to wear sturdy shoes and bring enough food and drink.

The next hike across the municipality of Göllheim will take place on April 26, 2025 at 10:00 am. The meeting point is the parking lot at the Zellertalschule in Harxheim.


Family hike to the Rothenburg castle in the Göllheim forest

Together with tour guide Wolfgang Müller, the municipality of Göllheim is organizing a family hike to Rothenburg Castle and village on 10 August. Spend a few pleasant hours together as a family in the Göllheim forest, immerse yourself in the history of the long-forgotten Rothenburg castle and be amazed at what is hidden in the Göllheim forest. According to legend, Count Rothenberg had a castle built northwest of the Lorenzbrunnen fountain. The village and Rothenburg Castle were abandoned centuries ago and were just waiting to be discovered.

The child-friendly hike is suitable for children aged 8 and over, lasts approx. 3 hours and covers a distance of 4.5 km. The meeting point is at 10:00 am at the hiking parking lot between the Kriegsberghütte and the Göllheimer Häuschen on the L396.

The next family hike to Rothenburg Castle will take place on August 10, 2025 at 10:00 am.


Winter hike between Dreisen and Standenbühl

The municipality invites you to take an atmospheric winter hike between Dreisen and Standebühl. The route leads along the idyllic Pfrimm and offers wonderful views of the Donnersberg, which is particularly impressive in the clear winter air. The meeting point is the parking lot at the train station, where the hike begins at 10:00 am.

The tour is the perfect way to start the Advent season in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the beauty of winter nature. The participation fee is 5 euros for adults and 2.50 euros for children. It is recommended that you wear sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. The tour lasts approx. 3 hours.

The winter hike will take place on November 30, 2025 at 10:00 am.


Pilgrimage along the monastery route

Our popular pilgrimage takes place every year - a cooperation with the St. Jakobus-Gesellschaft Rheinland-Pfalz-Saarland e.V., Regionalgruppe Nordpfalz. Together, we set off on a section of the St. James pilgrimage route and experience the nature of our beautiful municipality.

Pilgrimage 2023

The pilgrimage brings together up to 50 participants: experienced pilgrims, new pilgrims and hiking friends who take the opportunity to exchange ideas, experience community or enjoy the silence of pilgrimage.

The pilgrimage will take place on 29.06.2025.
